Cakes for Kids :)

Since I started decorating cakes, my students have loved seeing pictures of my creations and kept teasing that I should make them a cake...So, I decided to surprise them and make a cake for each of my self-contained classes to celebrate summer break's arrival! Since many of them will be vacationing at the beach, I did a beach theme for each cake and incorporated some personal touches that represented the students in each class...They absolutely loved the cakes and had a blast eating them and playing with the fondant pieces...It was well worth the time and work to see their smiling faces and hear their cute remarks such as "that is the coolest beach towel ever" or "I can't believe you made this, Mrs. Fulop...and we thought you just did math" or "How are we going to eat the cake with sand on it?" It was really nice to take a break from our end of the year review to spend a little time talking about our summer plans and enjoying a little treat...I am thankful to have had sweet students this year that I really enjoyed...one of my life's many blessings! :)
