We had a fantastic weekend full of a little snow, a little celebrating, and a lot of family fun time! On Friday, daddy went snowboarding for the first time. He had a blast, but woke up on Saturday feeling a little sore from a few falls...okay, maybe more than a few!! Enjoy the video of him coming down the slope after a few trial runs! While daddy was playing in the snow, mommy, Grandpa Newsome and Hunter played together back at home. The temperature was actually warm enough to play outside for a little bit, which was nice for a change! On Saturday morning, Grandpa headed to Cocoa, Florida to celebrate Grandma Kitty's 91st birthday with her...we are wishing her birthday wishes from here in Virginia and wishing we could be with her for her special day! Saturday evening was a big night for us because it was the first time that we had someone watch Hunter other than our family. We couldn't have asked for a better "babysitter", though! Mommy's friend from work, Susan, kept Hunter, while mommy and daddy along with Gram and Pap Pap went to a surprise birthday party for their friend, Jason. He turned 30 back on the 5th of January, so his wife threw him a late surprise party to keep him from finding out about it. Everyone had a great time playing the casino games, eating lots of good food and mingling with great friends. Susan and Hunter were busy back at home playing with toys, reading books and having a great time together. We were so thankful to her for being there so we could enjoy ourselves at the party, knowing that he was at home safe and sound! On Sunday, Auntie Heather came over and brought lunch and we spent the afternoon playing and chasing Hunter around the house...man, is he getting fast! He is very proficient at standing up on his own now, too. He pulls up on most anything he can get his hands on! He is starting to cruise along the sofa and other pieces of furniture, too. After Hunter went down for his nap, Auntie and mommy went out shopping for the afternoon and had a little girl time! It was a great weekend and in looking at the forecast, we are all hoping that the snow they are calling for actually comes this time! We could use a few more days to have nothing but fun around here! We hope you have a great week!
