all the hype

Every weekend should be a three-day weekend! :)

The only thing about having a three day weekend is that it leaves us wishing that all weekends were like that! Despite having that extra day, we were still left wishing for snow on Monday night (we all know that didn't come even close to happening, but one can still wish!) While we had the weekend, we made the most of every second of the time that we had together. On Saturday, Grandpa Newsome came to visit for the day and we all took a dive to Circuit City to see what kinds of "deals" they were offering - we soon decided that the crazy crowds and the lack of customer service just weren't tolerable for a lousy 10% off...We spent the rest of the afternoon playing at home where things were much calmer! Auntie Heather had us over for dinner and a movie that evening and it proved to be a wonderful evening of yummy food and lots of smiles and laughs...that was, until it was time to wake Hunter up to go home. We had done this many times before (put him down in the pack n' play and then took him home for him to go to sleep in his crib) but obviously he was not in the mood for being woken up that evening. He cried from the time he woke up all the way home and had a permanent frown on his face and wouldn't even look at mommy, who rode in the back seat with him to help him calm down! Once we were home, it took repeated attempts by both mommy and daddy to calm him down before he finally gave in and went to sleep. We can definetely say that we learned our lesson from this experience...there is true meaning to the two phrases "Don't wake a sleeping baby" and "Grumps grow from unfinished dreams". Thank goodness, Sunday turned things around again and we had a great day. Mommy and Daddy's friends, Tina and Dan, came over for the day and we all watched football and went to Mexico for dinner. We had a great time and even little Hunter enjoyed eating some tacos with us! :) It was a great dinner and provided wonderful entertainment for all as Hunter coated the floor in a mixture of Cheerios, Puffs, Ritz crackers and a little taco meat and cheese - Sorry, Mexico staff!! Monday was spent at Gram and Grandpa's house hanging out with Auntie and Gram and watching movies. We had Pajama Day, which is always fun and is a special treat for a Monday! It's amazing how much fun you can have just hanging around with your family! This week, Hunter has continued to pull himself up to standing and has even taken a few steps while holding on to his little walker. He has also discovered that there is more area to explore than just the living room and kitchen, so that is keeping mommy and daddy on their toes!!! He has continued to love the sales sheets from the Sunday paper (thanks to Grandpa Newsome for bringing them) - after mommy clips her coupons, Hunter has a ball with the scraps! Enjoy the videos and photos below...I am having some technical difficulties with the videos these days, so sorry for the lack of them! Have a wonderful rest of the week! :)
