The month of October has begun and fall is upon us! The month began with our remodel of the living room and kitchen floors...through the dust and staples, it turned out beautifully and we are all enjoying the new wood floors (including Hunter as he figures out how to slide around on them!) Next, we joined the Bryant family to celebrate Lucas' 2nd birthday! Lucas' mommy is pregnant with twins right now, but still managed to decorate an amazing cake for the celebration! To keep with the birthday theme...For Mommy's "birthday weekend", she and Daddy went away for a bed and breakfast weekend while Grandpa Newsome, Hunter and Skyler spent the weekend playing at home! On Sunday, Gram, Grandpa, Scott and Heather joined us to help celebrate Mommy's 31st birthday. It was complete with yummy grilled food (compliments of Daddy) & cake and ice cream! Monday was a holiday for some...and not for others...so, Auntie and Hunter spent the day together playing on the playground, watching the choo choo train, and meeting Scott for a lunch date at Chickfila! Monday night, Mommy and her friend, Heather Reed, spent the evening getting ready for their cake decorating class the following night...it consisted of four hours spent mixing, baking, icing and coloring, but it was lots of fun! Tuesday turned out to be a day of firsts for both Daddy and Mommy! Daddy killed his first deer with a bow, which was quite an accomplishment!! Then, Mommy successfully decorated her first cake at her cake decorating class! Hunter is busy experiencing lots of firsts...he is mastering a few words here and there...bus, puppy, truck, tree, moon, cloud, duck, juice, momma and dadda are a few of his best!! He is also feeding himself now with his fork and spoon and often likes to use the "big fork" to eat his dinner. He has come quite far in only a few weeks of practicing! He continues to love story time and can read his favorite books over and over again! Skyler continues to be the most patient pup with him and tolerates more than most would...Hunter enjoys using her as a pillow and she simply kisses him and stays still so he can be comfortable! We feel very fortunate to have such wonderful children! We hope that everyone is staying dry and keeping warm as the temperature drops! Enjoy the chance to eat hot soup and drink warm apple cider as the leaves change and my favorite seasons begin! :)
