Mommy and Daddy took a trip to Cancun this past week to celebrate their 7 year anniversary. They drove up to Northern Virginia on Friday and stayed the night with Mommy's cousin, Josh. They went out for a Mexican dinner and had a great time catching up with Josh for the evening!

Then, it was off to Cancun bright and early on Saturday morning. They flew out of Dulles at 6:30 and after a layover in Miami, they landed in Cancun shortly after noon.

They arrived to find rain in Cancun, but it was clearing up as the afternoon went on. Their room was very nice and they had a wonderful view of the turquoise ocean. Unfortunately, there were too many other things that they didn't care for, so they only stayed at the first resort for a few hours. They were transferred over to the sister resort, which was an adults only all inclusive.

Nice infinity pool at the first resort

The storm is passing...

I was sitting on the bed taking this picture...incredible!

With rain, comes rainbows! It was a beautiful one, too! Pictures could never do it justice!

Our first couple picture of the trip...beautiful sunset!

A little smooch for my hubby!

Our new room...quite a bit smaller, but still very nice with a jacuzzi and nice balcony and more importantly...the vacation we were hoping for!

Early morning...sitting under the tiki hut watching the ocean before breakfast...

View of the resort from the beach

On our balcony before our first day at the beach

Will admiring our view of the pool and the ocean...

With two new friends that we met, Jacylyn and Chris, from New Jersey

Watching the parasailers take off...

Will did a little sugar cookie in the sand (or as the Mexicans called it...a KFC) :)

Another view of the resort from the beach - the Ritz Carlton was the hotel to the right...

The activity board that told us the happenings of the day...which was pretty funny considering noone knew what time it was...We don't think they wanted you to know the time b/c they kept saying "What does it matter? You are on vacation! Relax!"

Our room was the one on the second floor with the white chair...

Will fighting the waves...they were not too forgiving!

On our way to dinner...

I think I was the only one awake in the whole resort other than the one worker by the pool...so, I enjoyed a little quiet time with my book on the balcony :)

Taking the boat to Isla de Mujeres for a day of fun!

Love Palm Trees! :)

Never knew there were so many shades of blue...beautiful!

Will made a new friend with a sandshark...notice, I took pictures from the dock!

She was 6 foot long...yeah...big...

She had 4 teeth left...4 teeth too many if you ask me!

The Beach Club at Isla de Mujeres...ultimate relaxation!

Leave it to Will to find a canine friend...he was quite friendly, though!

They had swings by the bar under the shade...what fun!

Attempting to kayak for the first time...we did pretty well once we were in sync!

Back on the boat and headed to the north end of the island for some
shopping time at the markets!

View of the beach club from the boat

More water pictures...can't get enough of it!

Off to shop at the markets and to try and get some bargains...key word here was TRY!

I think their goal was to give you so much stuff to look at that you stand
still for a second to take it all in and they've gotcha!
Our favorite phrases from the shop owners were
My stuff is "almost free" or "cheaper than free" and one guy asked us to come
take a look at his "quality junk". Hilarious! Needless to say, we didn't buy much,
but had fun looking!

Don't think this is the safest mode of transportation for a child in a diaper!!!

Listening to Guantanamera

Back on the boat headed to the mainland...

Will driving the boat on the way back...

One of the entertainers offering Will some Mexican cerveza!

Headed through the mangrove ecosystem...

Getting some love

Out for a nice dinner at Shangri La ~ the semiformal restaurant...

Dancing with the Blues Brothers at the Hollywood mini-golf at the resort

Will and James Dean looking GQ...

Took at trip to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville

Weather is here...wish you were beautiful...not so nice!

Chilling at Margaritaville :)

One of my all-time favorite Jimmy Buffett lines :)

Out to the steakhouse for dinner...

Headed down to the pool and pool bar from our room...

Our 6am walk down the beach to watch the sunrise...it was very pretty!

Our last day at the beach...will miss the ocean, the food, the fun times...
but ready to go home to our wonderful lives there!

Had to get one last beach picture!
Meanwhile, Hunter was busy back at home with his grandparents and Auntie practicing his new sounds (not talking yet, but he is definetely vocal!), learning how to drink through a straw, and making sure that he shows everyone that he is done eating before he gets another piece. Enjoy the video below compliments of Auntie Heather!
